Pete Gombert – Chief Executive Officer
Pete is an entrepreneur and visionary with extensive experience building software companies. He has been the founder or co-founder of three software-based businesses and has proven abilities to establish the vision and foster the growth necessary to return significant value to shareholders.
Pete’s software leadership experience spans multiple industries to include energy, finance, and media. Prior to Balihoo, Pete founded Enerx, a software company focused on the energy trading space. Upon selling the company to KW International, a London-based company that builds trading and risk management software for energy markets, he became Executive Vice President of International Operations. Previously, Pete was on the founding team of a financial services software and services firm. Pete holds a bachelors degree in accounting from Villanova University. Paul Price – Chief Technology Officer
Paul is responsible for leading engineering efforts, including software development and infrastructure. With more than eight years of hands-on experience in developing professional Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, Paul brings a broad technical knowledge and diverse set of tools, techniques, and best practices to Balihoo. Paul played a key role in developing the software and building the team that created Clearwater Analytics, the leading institutional investment reporting company. The software systems and tools he created allowed a small team to efficiently manage more than $5 billion in corporate cash for dozens of separate accounts while also managing additional trading strategies and hedge funds. In his spare time Paul unwinds outdoors by hunting, hiking, or dirt-biking.
Shane Vaughan – Chief Marketing Officer
Shane is responsible for all marketing activities including national and local customer acquisition, PR, AR and branding. Prior to Balihoo, Shane was at Hewlett-Packard where he was the Global Search Engine Marketing Manager setting the strategic direction and overall investment strategies for HP’s worldwide annual search spend. He has also led business development, customer acquisition and marketing programs for businesses of all sizes including Hewlett-Packard, Dailey & Associates Advertising and Wirestone. Shane is also a former Google Tech Council member, a 10 person advisory council chartered with providing search and internet marketing insight to Google. Dan Keefe – Senior Vice President of Sales
Dan is responsible for leading and scaling Balihoo’s sales team, with a focus on adding new customers to the company's roster of well-known brands. He brings over 20 years of software sales and sales leadership experience to Balihoo and has been instrumental in scaling sales performance for several enterprise software companies from early stage, through rapid growth, and to successful IPO or acquisition. Prior to joining Balihoo, Dan was SVP of Sales at Anaplan where his leadership contributed to Anaplan becoming one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in history. He served as SVP Sales at SAVO for seven years, fueling double and triple digit growth throughout his tenure. Previously, he served as VP of sales for Agile Software and MatrixOne (both of which enjoyed successful IPOs), and VP of Sales at Open Ratings (later acquired by Dunn and Bradstreet). Dan holds a BS in Business Administration from Miami University. He and his wife Pam enjoy spending time with their four kids. Dan is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, cycling, competitive sporting clay shooting, and fly fishing.
Steve Oriola – Senior Vice President of Product Management
Steve is responsible for product strategy, product management and product marketing. Prior to Balihoo, Steve was the VP of Product Management at Brightcove in Cambridge, Ma. Steve also spent 10 years at Constant Contact, the leader in SaaS marketing applications for small businesses, where he participated in growing the company from $0 to $200 million in revenue and a 2007 IPO. At Constant Contact, Steve led business development, building channels, OEM partnerships and strategic alliances, and was the VP of Product Management as the company expanded into multiple products. Steve brings over 20 years of general management and software product strategy to Balihoo. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from Boston University. On his days off Steve spends time with his family, indulges his love of sports and hits the slopes when the snow is fresh.
Marty Ostermiller – Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance
Marty is responsible for managing Balihoo’s operations and finances. His background marries his passion for contributing to start-up environments with his aptitude for helping fast-growing businesses optimize their financial performance and create operational efficiencies. Previously, as RightNow Technologies’ finance director, Marty managed the finances across several areas of the business: marketing, cloud operations, IT, software engineering, human resources, and legal, contributing to the company’s phenomenal growth and eventual acquisition by Oracle. Prior to RightNow, Marty spent time consulting for early-stage SaaS providers in addition to spending four years building payment card company, BanX, Inc. from its inception. Immediately prior to joining the Balihoo team, Marty and his six-year-old son Bryce spent time trekking in Nepal to the Everest Base Camp. Marty and his wife Dana love spending time in the mountains and are looking forward to more fun adventures with Bryce and his younger brother Kai in the future.
Peter Anewalt – Vice President of Professional Services
Peter is responsible for the delivery of complete Local Marketing Automation solutions based on Balihoo's products, and driving customer adoption through training of best-practice usage of those solutions. His background includes extensive experience in solving complex business problems using software technology, and building teams that deliver those solutions efficiently and profitably. Prior to Balihoo, Peter served as VP of Global Services for Unica, a provider of enterprise marketing automation solutions. At Unica, he focused on turning the Services team from a reactive, break-even, product and partner support function into a proactive, industry leading, solution-delivery organization operating at benchmark levels of profitability. Previously, he was Director of Professional Services at edocs (acquired by Siebel in 2005), and held numerous technical, consulting and managerial roles with Kenan Systems (acquired by Lucent in 1999). Peter holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. When not working, he will likely be coaching or watching his kids in their numerous athletic endeavors, biking, hiking, or crafting another outstanding batch of home-brewed beer.

Andrew Piron – Vice President of Client Services
With an extreme passion for solving problems and bringing ideas to life, Andrew has worked in startup companies throughout his professional career. For 10 years Andrew worked in a number of venture capital funded startups in the San Francisco Bay Area such as SpotLife, Razorfish, MeeVee, and Roost. In 2004, Andrew and his wife Abigail started a boutique clothing company, Abigail Morgan on Union Street in San Francisco. It was during this time when he became deeply involved with retail, technology, local marketing, and inventory. Abigail Morgan grew to a multi-location business in northern California. In 2008, Andrew decided to change his family’s quality of life and moved from San Francisco to Boise, Idaho. In the fall of 2009, Andrew serendipitously met Pete Gombert, CEO of Balihoo and became intrigued with the problems Pete and the rest of the Balihoo team were addressing within the local marketing space. Andrew joined the Balihoo team shortly thereafter. And the rest is history in the making.
