We are currently hiring a Product Manager with experience in software product management and advertising media to lead the definition and direction of its market leading media buying software.
Your main responsibilities will be software product planning, feature and release prioritization, and product feature development and execution throughout the product lifecycle. You will work in a cross-functional manner with the product management team, engineering, quality assurance, and marketing to advance the current solution and drive a consistently improved product to customers.
As a product manager at Balihoo you must be comfortable wearing many hats and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted business that is changing every day. Given the dynamic nature of our business, it is important that you have strong project management skills and are capable of directing the efforts of multiple teams simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in software product management and advertising/media buying, but we will consider candidates with strong media buying experience who lack product management experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own and define product requirements by combining management input, customer input, competitive/market research and instinct to define detailed requirements and make tactical decisions
- Participate in every stage of the product life cycle to ensure product meets requirements of users and the market
- Work with the development team during development cycles to manage team capacity and burn down on feature development
- Maintain current status of customer requirements for existing and future features
- Work with QA to drive continuous improvement of software products
- Work with Sales, Marketing, QA and Engineering to coordinate the timely and proper launch of the features
- Train staff including marketing, sales and support on existing product and enhancements
- Work with the customer support team to improve knowledge and efficient support of the product.
Candidates should possess the following:
- 5+ years experience in a customer facing product management or business analyst role working with cross functional teams developing and launching software products/solutions
- 2+ years experience working with or within the Media industry
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and proven leadership capabilities in a dynamic and diverse work environment
- Proven track record as both a strategic and tactical thinker with ability to deliver on commitments
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and ability to quickly foster interpersonal relationships with marketing and cross-functionally
- Ability to effectively influence multiple constituencies without direct organizational management responsibility
- Experience with web application Development
- Experience working with in an agile management frame work such as Scrum
would be advantageous
- Experience working with offshore development teams is a plus
This position is based in Boise, ID and some travel will be required (less than 10%).
