We are currently hiring a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to maintain and support a medium-sized SQL Server environment. This person must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment, and embrace change. This person will work with the software development team as well as the business unit, and will report to our data architect.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and testing of our disaster recovery plan and backup strategy.
- Developing, documenting, and executing an effective database maintenance plan.
- Managing and documenting and effective security plan.
- Managing a high availability environment with Replication/Mirroring/Clustering technologies.
- Creating SSRS reports as requested by the business unit from OLTP and OLAP data sources.
- Monitoring for database performance problems and resolving problems as they are found.
- Monitoring databases resources and providing ongoing trend analyses and forecasting.
- Supporting the development team by providing assistance with the SQL change management process. Assist in pushing database schema changes from development through production environments.
- Sharing on-call duties for the production database environment.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- CS, MIS, or similar technical degree required
- 2+-years DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server required
- Strong understanding of relational database theory and design required
- Strong T-SQL skills including triggers, stored procedures, and functions required
- Experience with MS SSRS and SSIS required
- Strong organizational and written skills required
- MCDBA or other Microsoft certifications a plus
- MySQL experience a plus

This position is based in Boise, ID and minimal travel will be required.
