Why Social Media is the Gateway for Brands to Connect with Consumers
November 4, 2014
Did you know that social networking is the top online activity in the US, with the average American spending 37 minutes on it per day? This fact alone, demonstrates that social media is no longer a way to share information between friends, but a viable – and important- marketing tactic for national brands. To further prove the point, I’ve gathered several key stats from the last couple of months that highlight the importance of building out a solid and strategic social media plan for 2015.
- Facebook accounts for 56% of all social shares (LoginRadius)
- 49 percent of fan interactions with brands on Facebook are positive. 20 percent are negative (Marketing Tech Blog)
- Tweets that include photos and links receive 150 percent more engagement (Simply Measured)
- 70 percent of buying experiences are based on how the customer feels they are being treated (Help Scout)
I also recently came across an infographic that provides an in-depth look, by industry, medium, and social channel, on how businesses are leveraging social media to connect with consumers. Below are some highlights. You can find the full resource here.
